About Top Rated Places

On this page

Last updated: 3 November 2026

Top Rated Places publishes independent editorial guides to places and services across destinations and categories. We help readers compare options for a particular meal, stay, visit or practical need, with reasons for the recommendations and links to supporting information.

Our guides, place profiles and destination pages work together: start with a destination or category, choose a guide that matches your plans, then explore the individual places.

What “Top Rated” means here

Top Rated Places is our brand and describes our aim to find useful, well-supported recommendations. Inclusion and list position are editorial selections for the question stated in each guide. They are not, by themselves, a customer rating, a measured quality score or proof that a place is universally best.

Relevant evidence can include an operator’s offering, location and booking conditions, attributed independent recognition and reputation information. A guide should explain the evidence it uses and any limitations. Read our methodology and review process for the details.

Authorship and AI assistance

Each guide identifies its responsible author. Sarah Haddad is the responsible author named on our editorial guides. AI tools assist research, drafting and consistency checks. A byline or source-check date does not imply a first-hand visit, tasting or separate reviewer unless the page documents that work.

Independence and how we make money

Payment cannot buy inclusion or a higher position in an independent editorial ranking. Advertising and affiliate links do not determine the editorial order. Sponsored content and paid Featured Place profiles are labelled separately; purchasing a profile does not buy an editorial recommendation or guarantee an AI recommendation.

See our editorial policy for advertising, affiliate links, conflicts and gifts.
