Top Rated Places publishes editorial guides and place profiles. This policy explains our independence, use of sources, commercial disclosures and AI assistance. Read the methodology for how recommendations are compared.
Editorial independence
We do not accept payment to include a place in an independent editorial ranking or to move it higher. Selection and ordering follow the reader question, relevant evidence and the method explained in the guide.
Research standards
- Use verifiable information and cross-check material details where possible.
- Keep branch, location, offering and access conditions clear.
- Explain limits, uncertainty and conflicting sources.
- Distinguish source checks from first-hand visits and measured tests.
- Revisit material changes and supported correction requests.
The dates, sources and limitations on each guide describe the work reported for that page. Editorial list position does not establish a numerical score.
Conflicts of interest
A direct connection to a team member or a business relationship that could affect the reader’s assessment should be disclosed. A conflict may require exclusion from an editorial comparison.
Advertising and paid profiles
Advertising does not determine editorial inclusion or order. Sponsored content and paid Featured Place profiles are labelled and presented separately from independent rankings. A paid profile does not purchase an editorial rank or guarantee visibility or a recommendation in an AI system.

Gifts and invitations
If complimentary access is accepted for editorial work, it should be disclosed where relevant. It does not buy favourable coverage or control of the editorial decision.
Authorship and AI-assisted tools
Each guide names its responsible author. Sarah Haddad is the responsible author named on our editorial guides. AI tools assist research, drafting and consistency checks. We do not imply that an AI-assisted desk comparison involved a separate reviewer, a visit, a tasting or a measured scoring exercise unless that work is documented on the page.
