Use the exact terminal and return instructions

Avis has distinct Malpensa T1 and T2 locations. The airport lists the rental area on floor −1 near the train station; Avis’s T1 page combines arrivals-hall directions with a lower-level Treni/Autonoleggi route. Use the terminal stated on the reservation.

T1’s published hours are 07:30–00:00, with 24-hour drop-off. Its key box is at the parking check-in cabin, and the page lists out-of-hours return as free. That is a return arrangement, separate from staffed collection.

Keep the wider airport and self-service offering

The business also has separate Linate and Bergamo airport options. These are different collection points; a change of airport or one-way return needs a quote for the intended itinerary.

Avis’s self-service page names Linate, Malpensa T1/T2 and Bergamo. It is an Avis Preferred process requiring app-based licence and identity verification and a QR code. The first Preferred rental still requires a counter visit, and additional drivers must show their licences at the counter.

Distinguish a card option from a rate promise

The T1-linked payment policy accepts Visa and Mastercard debit as well as listed credit cards, but excludes Electron, prepaid and digital payment cards. Some vehicle groups require two traditional credit cards in the renter’s name. Obtain the precise group’s requirements.

The page mixes promotional free-cancellation language with a separately listed €65 non-cancellation fee. Use the selected rate’s cancellation deadline and no-show terms. Neither a promotional discount nor a card logo establishes the complete rental price or guarantee requirement.

Planning questions

Can a first-time Preferred customer assume counter-free collection?

No. Avis’s self-service page says the first Preferred rental requires a counter visit; membership and app checks are separate requirements.

Does Avis accept every debit or prepaid card?

No. The T1 policy names Visa and Mastercard debit, excludes Electron/prepaid/digital cards and has stricter requirements for some vehicle groups.
