Editorial place profile

Bosco Verticale

Bosco Verticale is the Boeri Studio project in Porta Nuova, consisting of two residential towers, described by the designer as 110 and 76 metres high. Its distinctive staggered projecting balconies support trees and other planting, making vegetation part of the façade design. The published project period is 2007–2014. This is a residential architecture selection: the reviewed designer page does not offer a public interior or observation-deck ticket. Plan exterior architectural viewing from the surrounding public area and do not assume access to private balconies or apartments. Independent recognition adds to its architectural interest: Bosco Verticale won the International Highrise Award for 2014/15, and the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat named it Best Tall Building Worldwide in 2015. These dated awards recognise the project; they do not turn the residential towers into a public visitor attraction.
