Shop Waitrose ranges by delivery or collection
The current store navigation includes Essential Waitrose, No.1, Duchy Organic and other grocery ranges. Ordinary delivery and Click & Collect both require £40; eligible collection is free. Entertaining-only collection has a separate no-minimum exception under the terms, rather than changing the ordinary grocery rule.
The slot-booking page displays the delivery charge. Use the real postcode, chosen date and format. Products are priced at the store price on delivery/collection day, so a future-dated basket is an estimate.

Use notes and substitution controls, and be there to receive delivery
You can add per-item shopper notes and deselect Allow substitution in the trolley. If a fixed-weight item is replaced by a higher-priced alternative, the terms say you pay the lower of the two prices. Unwanted substitutes can be rejected for a refund. Check replacement ingredients and allergens rather than assuming equivalence.
Someone must receive the delivery: current help says it cannot be left unattended in a porch, garage or shed. The displayed next-day amendment deadline is 23:00 in dedicated help, while the general page says 22:00. 20–24 December amendments close 22:00, and Entertaining products have preparation-notice rules. Cancellation is separate: terms state 21:00 the previous day to avoid possible retention of the delivery charge. Use the order’s actual deadline and act earlier when cancelling.

Evaluate the Delivery Pass as a recurring purchase
The current pass costs £8 monthly, £45 six-monthly or £85 annually, for one available grocery delivery per day with a £40 minimum after discounts. It renews for the same term unless stopped. No slot is guaranteed, and the pass cannot be paused; stopping renewal leaves it active through the current term outside the applicable cancellation period.
The pass covers direct waitrose.com/app groceries, not Deliveroo, Uber Eats, Just Eat or the separate specialist shops. Its Christmas early-access rule requires an active pass purchased before 1 September that year; a new October pass does not establish 2026 early access. The advertised annual savings assume a particular weekly delivery pattern. Contact 0800 188 884 or customerserviceteam@waitrose.co.uk about actual conditions.

Planning questions
Is £8 the price of one delivery?
No. It is the monthly Delivery Pass subscription. The ordinary delivery charge is quoted with the slot; eligible collection is free with the ordinary £40 minimum.
Can the shopping be left in my porch?
The current delivery help says orders cannot be left unattended in a porch, shed or garage. Arrange for someone to receive it.
Does every substitute have the original price?
The terms protect the lower price when a fixed-weight item is replaced by a more expensive one. That specific rule does not establish identical ingredients or a blanket price guarantee for every product.
Does buying a pass now guarantee a Christmas slot?
No. Slots remain subject to availability, and early access requires an active pass bought before 1 September of the relevant year. A new October 2026 pass does not meet that cutoff.
