Top 10 Beaches in Cyprus (2026)

Which Cyprus beach fits your beach day?

Choose Fig Tree Bay for a Protaras resort day, Nissi for music and beach bars, or Konnos for a small pine-backed cove. Coral Bay suits a Pegeia resort stay; Polis adds a northwest base with described water-entry equipment. Makronisos offers three bays, Pissouri cliff scenery, Kourion nearby archaeology, Kalymnos a sandy Governor’s Beach-area section, and Mckenzie plane spotting, dining and nightlife.

How to use this shortlist

These ten beaches are grouped by coast and the kind of day they suit. Top 10 is an editorial shortlist, with no measured beauty, popularity or swimming-safety score. Tourism information was reviewed on 17 October 2026. Published facilities and general lifeguard seasons are planning information: the actual entrance, staffing, sea conditions and functioning access equipment still depend on the visit date. Rentals, events, water sports, campsite use and archaeological visits have their own arrangements.

For Protaras resort days and a Cape Gkreko cove

For lively or multi-bay Agia Napa days

For west-coast resort and northwest stays

For cliff scenery, archaeology and the Governor’s Beach coast

For a Larnaka city beach and nightlife

  • Mckenzie Beach, Cyprus

A Larnaka beach day with planes, dining and nightlife

Mckenzie pairs a Larnaka beach day with plane spotting and waterfront dining. Water sports, play areas and nightlife offer different ways to use the strip. Its published lifeguard season is June–October, unlike the April start on most other pages here; venue entry and events have separate conditions.

Plan the beach entrance and the kind of day

Start with the coast where you are staying, then the setting. A music-led Nissi day, a small Konnos cove and a Kourion archaeological pairing are different trips. On the west coast, Coral Bay’s resort facilities and Polis’s northwest location answer different itineraries.

For mobility planning, separate access onto the beach from entry into the sea. Fig Tree Bay describes a lifeguard-assisted wheelchair, while Polis describes an assisted chair and Seatrac. Establish the usable route, equipment and help needed for the date. A general accessibility description at another beach does not establish the same device or service.

Use local swimming flags, designated areas and the advice of the staff on duty. Most tourism pages here describe April–October lifeguards; Mckenzie describes June–October. Those are general published seasons, not a verified shift or sea-state report. Respect protected and nesting areas, and agree rental or activity charges with the actual provider.

Questions before you choose

Are Fig Tree Bay and Nissi Beach in the same resort?

Fig Tree Bay is in Protaras, in the Paralimni area. Nissi Beach is west of Agia Napa centre. Choose transport, accommodation and activities for the exact beach location.

Does every beach list the same lifeguard season?

Most dedicated tourism pages in this shortlist publish April–October. Mckenzie instead publishes June–October. These general seasons do not establish today’s staffing; use the actual shift and local flags for the visit.

Which beaches describe assisted entry into the water?

Fig Tree Bay describes a wheelchair at the lifeguard tower, with assistance. Polis Municipal Beach describes an assisted chair and Seatrac. Arrange the functioning equipment, route and help needed for the date; a general accessibility label is not the same service.

Are Nissi Beach and Nissi Bay the same tourism listing?

The portal has separate pages: Nissi Beach is described as 600 metres, Nissi Bay as 300 metres, with distinct coordinates. This guide follows the Nissi Beach listing. Identify the section intended for the visit; an islet or sand lane does not establish safe passage.

Is all of Makronisos unrestricted beach space?

The tourism portal describes three bays and places the southwestern part within Natura 2000. Follow protected-area boundaries and local notices. The nearby Makronissos Tombs is a separate archaeological visit.

Do Blue Flag page titles or calm-water descriptions guarantee safe swimming?

No. Blue Flag requires compliance during the applicable award period, including water quality, information, facilities and safety provisions. A longstanding tourism-page title does not certify this year’s award or today’s sea conditions. Use current on-site information, flags and local advice.

How we selected these places

We chose these ten beaches for distinct coast locations, beach settings, activities, facilities and published access arrangements. Dedicated Cyprus tourism pages support their identities and practical differences; the Blue Flag programme explains the limits of award labels. The grouped recommendations are editorial choices, rather than customer ratings or an independent safety ranking. We did not visit, test water quality, assess a mobility route, rent equipment or book activities.
