A harbour restaurant with a broader menu
Glossitses’ current operator site gives Akti Enoseos 4 on Chania’s Old Venetian Harbour, with phone +30 28210 59074 and glossitses@gmail.com. Its setting and seafood dishes suit a harbour meal, while the menu also offers Greek meze, meat, vegetarian dishes, pasta and rice preparations. This is a mixed restaurant menu rather than a seafood-only or vegetarian-only venue.
The operator describes selecting fish and seafood from local fishermen and products from Cretan producers, and uses organic and freshness language. These are the restaurant’s sourcing descriptions. They do not establish independent certification of every ingredient or guarantee the day’s catch, a particular product or a waterfront table.

Meze, salads, fish and meat
The current food menu lists hummus, fava, taramas, smoked aubergine with feta, guacamole, Cretan salads, grilled cheese and cheese pie. Other starters include marinated anchovies, tuna carpaccio, sea urchins and octopus in vinegar. Fish soup includes John Dory, vegetables and small shrimp. Choose the actual ingredients and portion for the meal rather than treating all starters as vegetarian.
Seafood choices include fried anchovies and red mullet, grilled sardine fillet, sea bream and sea bass labelled 500 grams, calamari, shrimp saganaki and mussels labelled 500 grams. Mixed seafood is described for two people. These are menu portion descriptions, not verified prices per kilogram or a promise that every item is available.
The wider menu includes traditional moussaka, pork-and-beef sausages, mixed-meat kebab with yogurt, snails, meatballs, chicken preparations, pork gyros, smoked pork ribeye, beef with smoked aubergine, lamb and steaks. Ask which dishes or catch are available for the actual service.

Pasta, pilafi, wine and desserts
Pasta choices range from bolognese, arrabbiata and carbonara to anchovy-and-caper puttanesca, smoked-salmon Alfredo, cured-fish-roe bottarga and seafood marinara. Traditional Cretan skioufichta appears with lamb and dry anthotyro cheese, or with octopus, tomato and onion. The rice section lists mushroom and spinach risottos, shrimp, octopus, mussel and cuttlefish pilafi, and a Cretan paella.
Wine lists span white, rosé, red, sparkling, bulk wine and retsina, including Cretan producers. The drinks menu also includes spritzes, cocktails, beer, ouzo, tsipouro, local soft drinks, coffee and tea. Desserts include chocolate mousse with orange, lemon pie, tiramisu and baklava. A listed wine or dish does not guarantee stock or that a drink is included in a meal.

The separate gluten-free menu still needs a conversation
The current site publishes a separate gluten-free menu with breads, dips, salads, cheese, vegetarian and meat choices, seafood, pizza, pasta and rice dishes. This is useful menu information, but it does not establish a dedicated preparation area, separate equipment or cross-contact controls.
Ingredient wording also matters: mussels in that menu are described as steamed in wine or beer, and other dishes include soy dressing, cheese, cream, nuts, fish or shellfish. Confirm the exact ingredients, any beer used, the pasta or bread and the kitchen’s preparation for the intended order. A heading alone should not replace that conversation.

Menu prices and the two published timetables
The reviewed current operator menus show dishes and some serving quantities without numeric dish prices. The e-restaurants listing displays a general €15–€30 range but does not state a comparable per-dish or per-person basis. Ask for the actual menu price and portion before ordering, especially for fish, shared seafood and drinks. No fixed meal budget is established here.
The operator currently lists 10:00–01:00 daily, while e-restaurants lists 11:00–midnight. Use the operator’s current branch information and confirm the kitchen window and intended date. Neither weekly schedule establishes an annual operating calendar, so check seasonal or holiday changes for the intended visit.

Reservations and the alternative platform route
The operator’s current website has its own reservation section and publishes the direct phone and email. Confirm the chosen table, party and date through the route used. No table availability, deposit, cancellation fee or payment requirement is established by the presence of that section.
The existing e-restaurants listing remains an alternative route. Its platform terms say a reservation is complete when the guest receives SMS or email confirmation. Platform cancellation requires a phone call to its representative during call-centre hours, at least two hours before the reservation. Those are platform conditions, not automatically the terms of a reservation made directly with Glossitses.
The platform also permits changes to time or party size up to two hours before the original reservation through the platform or restaurant; a different date requires cancelling and making a new request under its terms. Check the actual restaurant and route-specific conditions before committing to a booking.

Private events, seating and individual requirements
Glossitses advertises tailored menus for private social gatherings and corporate dining. Discuss the group, menu, dietary requirements, seating and any event terms directly rather than assuming a fixed group package or a guaranteed harbour-facing table.
The booking platform labels al fresco seating, tables with a view, disabled amenities and Wi-Fi. It does not describe the access route or specific facilities in the reviewed listing. Confirm the required arrangement for the actual party; the retained harbour-seating photograph does not establish access, weather protection or the view from every table.
