A crossing through the gorge

The classic route links Monodendri and Vikos, with woodland, limestone formations and the Voidomatis springs area along the wider gorge landscape. Other village-to-village variants differ. Beloi and Oxia offer views from above, but neither viewpoint visit is equivalent to walking through the gorge.

A full day and a return transfer

Discover Greece’s published example is 12.5km and six–eight hours, with April–November recommended for the usual hiking season. Its advice favours experienced walkers and a guide for the full crossing, notes slippery limestone in rain and recommends a taxi at the finish. Use the selected route’s current local description and weather assessment; published estimates and seasonal advice are not an opening or safety guarantee.
