Papigo, the springs and Vikos village
The direct operator itinerary begins at Mikro Papigo, descends into the gorge past the springs and Panagia monastery, then climbs the old stone path to Vikos village. It lists eight kilometres and four–five hours; the Greek description includes the vehicle return to Papigo. A shorter descent and return from Vikos would be another variant, with its own map and effort.

Different river walks and family conditions
The same operator’s lower Voidomatis River Trail is a separate six-kilometre/two-and-a-half-hour product meeting at Klidonia bridge. A combined Discover Greece listing mixes the two descriptions, so use the direct itinerary. The springs English page requires age twelve-plus while the Greek page says seven-plus and uses different grade/elevation wording; resolve the actual family eligibility with the operator. Neither promotional swimming nor clear-water wording establishes safe swimming, drinking water or present river access.
