Top 10 Pet-Friendly Restaurants in Venice (2026)

Which Venice restaurant fits a meal with a pet?

La Caravella and Osteria ai Do Pozzi publish animal-admission information on their own pages. Matching TheFork listings identify Why&Not, Taverna La Fenice, Rosa Rossa, Òstrega, Osteria ai do Archi, Poste Vecie, Osteria del Lovo and ZOJA as dog friendly. Choose the food and setting as well as the policy: Rialto seafood, Venetian fish-and-meat dishes or a Cannaregio hotel lunch offer different meals. Confirm your animal, table area and service conditions; a dog-friendly tag does not guarantee every species, size or date.

How to use this shortlist

Compare the exact restaurant, the source of animal-admission information and the meal you want. Operator rules and directory dog-friendly tags have different detail. A terrace, garden or restaurant photograph does not establish permission for every animal, size or table.

Questions before you choose

Which restaurants publish their own pet policy?

La Caravella’s FAQ welcomes small and medium pets with advance notice and staff discretion. Osteria ai Do Pozzi’s operator-managed page lists pets allowed. The other eight positively supported venues use matching TheFork dog-friendly tags or FAQs; those labels do not define every species, size or seating arrangement.

Does La Caravella set a specific dog-weight limit?

Its published FAQ says small and medium pets, requests advance notice when booking and leaves admission to staff discretion. It does not define a kilogram threshold.

Does a garden or terrace mean pets are admitted?

No. Seating outdoors and permission to bring an animal are separate. Al Giardinetto da Severino has a seasonal garden, but its current pet policy is unverified. La Patatina San Rocco also lacks a verified current pet-admission statement.

Can an ordinary table be booked at Rosa Rossa?

The dedicated booking page now links general online reservations and also describes first-come, first-served walk-ins. Its homepage still uses narrower group-only wording. The dedicated page asks parties above five and special requests to contact the restaurant by email or by phone from 09:00 to 11:00, and states a deposit for parties above five without specifying the amount.

Where is Òstrega’s current menu and group information?

Use ostregavenezia.it, which links the published menu and gives Corte Piossi 2097. Wednesday–Monday venue hours are 12:00–22:30, with Tuesday closed. The direct group route for six or more requires a €10-per-person deposit credited to the final bill.

Is Osteria ai do Archi the same as Agli Archi in Cannaregio?

No. This profile is the restaurant and pizzeria at Barbaria de le Tole 6359 in Castello. The similarly named Agli Archi restaurant in Cannaregio is a different identity.

Can I arrive for dinner any time Ai Do Pozzi is open?

Its published evening venue window is 18:30–22:30, while the kitchen serves 19:00–21:30. Lunch kitchen service is 12:00–14:30 within the wider 10:00–15:00 venue window. Wednesday is closed.

How we selected these places

We compared Venetian and Italian food, locality, setting, meal format, menu and booking conditions, and the source of animal-admission information. The ten recommendations include two published operator pet policies and eight matching TheFork dog-friendly tags. Three further restaurants have no verified current pet permission and appear separately. Groups describe editorial fit for the meal; no firsthand meal, animal-admission, service, dietary-handling or reservation test is claimed.
