Best Pizza Restaurants in Venice: Slices and Sit-Down Meals (2026)

Where should you go for pizza in Venice?

Antico Forno is our starting choice for a quick pizza stop near Rialto. For a sit-down meal, choose OKE Zattere for seasonal canal-side seating or Al Profeta for a Dorsoduro dinner with an optional garden table. Near Piazza San Marco, compare 1000 Gourmet’s shareable sliced pizzas with the Rossopomodoro San Marco branch. The best fit depends on whether you want a counter stop, a view or a longer meal.

A shortlist for different meals

This is a best-for shortlist of ten historic-centre pizza and restaurant-pizzeria choices, compared by location, pizza format and the meal they support. It is an editorial planning guide, not a customer-rating table or a pizza tasting. Branch-specific menus and necessary dietary conditions remain separate.

The pizzerias and why to choose them

  • Antico Forno Venezia

A quick pizza stop near Rialto

Antico Forno offers three useful formats at San Polo 970/973: changing counter pizzas, its tall Pizzaccia and traditional round pizzas. It is our starting choice near Rialto when a quick pizza stop matters more than a long restaurant meal.

For a round pizza, Norma combines aubergine with fior di latte and ricotta; Pugliese uses burrata. Both contain dairy despite the plant symbols beside their names. Counter toppings vary, so choose from the pizzas available when you arrive.

  • 1000 Gourmet Venezia

Sharing pizzas near Piazza San Marco

1000 Gourmet at Calle Specchieri San Marco 475 suits a group that wants to order several pizzas and share the slices. This is the restaurant branch, separate from the Cannaregio bakery and the Naples location.

The Venice menu lists a €3 cover per person and €3 supplements for gluten-free or lactose-free alternatives. It explicitly says gluten-free pizzas use the same oven as regular pizzas; availability is not a cross-contact guarantee. The restaurant also warns that busy-period pizza waits can exceed thirty minutes.

  • OKE Zattere

    A canal-side sit-down pizza meal

Choose OKE Zattere for a sit-down pizza meal overlooking the Giudecca Canal when outdoor seating is available. The operator describes around forty pizzas alongside Venetian dishes, giving a mixed party alternatives to pizza.

Use the Dorsoduro 1414 address. OKE Santa Lucia at Cannaregio 158 is a different branch, and its menu does not establish Zattere recipes or prices. OKE says it participates in the AIC project; discuss the exact dish and preparation rather than treating that statement as a blanket allergy-safety guarantee.

  • Rossopomodoro Venezia San Marco

A Neapolitan pizza-chain option in San Marco

Rossopomodoro Venezia San Marco gives a precise central meeting point at Calle Larga San Marco 404. Choose this branch when your party wants the familiar Rossopomodoro format close to Piazza San Marco.

Its official branch page publishes daily opening from 11:30 to 23:30 and a reservation link. Request the Venice San Marco menu for particular recipes, prices and dietary choices; a menu identifying another city should not determine this branch’s order. A published closing time does not establish the last kitchen order.

  • 6342 A Le Tole

A party choosing between pizza and fresh pasta

6342 A Le Tole is useful when one diner wants pizza and another prefers homemade pasta. The Castello restaurant lists a broad pizza selection, including Vegetariana with mozzarella, peppers, aubergine and courgette, and the meat-topped A Le Tole.

The operator describes a wheat-and-soya flour blend, which does not make the dough gluten-free. Its published daily service is 12:00–15:30 and 18:00–22:00. Choose ingredients dish by dish rather than assuming a vegetable-topped pizza is dairy-free.

  • Trattoria dai Tosi

Pizza near the Biennale and Via Garibaldi

Trattoria dai Tosi is the eastern Castello option, at Calle Seco Marina 738 near the Biennale and Via Garibaldi. Its story dates to 1993, and the operator presents pizza alongside traditional Venetian cooking.

This is a useful meal stop when your day is already centred on the Biennale area. The homepage and linked menu publish different dinner and Wednesday-opening information. Telephone for the chosen date and kitchen time instead of relying on one unqualified weekly timetable.

  • Al Profeta

A Dorsoduro dinner with optional garden seating

Al Profeta combines pizza with Venetian meat and fish dishes on Calle Lunga San Barnaba. Choose it for a longer Dorsoduro meal, particularly when your group wants a broader restaurant menu and the possibility of sitting in its garden.

The published menu includes ordinary and rolled pizzas. The garden is a seating preference to request, rather than an inclusion guaranteed by every booking; weather and availability affect the arrangement. Preserve the exact San Barnaba 2671 address when reserving.

  • Muro San Stae

Seafood or cheese-topped pizzas in Santa Croce

Muro San Stae has its own Santa Croce menu. Principessa pairs stracciatella with rocket and cherry tomatoes; Pellestrina is a tomato-and-seafood pizza. Classic pizzas sit alongside the wider restaurant’s pasta, meat and fish dishes.

Choose San Stae for a sit-down meal in this part of Santa Croce. Its terrace is seasonal, and its cover charge and additions are separate menu terms. Use this branch’s current menu rather than carrying over Frari recipes or prices.

  • Muro Frari

A sit-down pizza near the Frari

Muro Frari is the San Polo choice for a sit-down pizza around the Frari area. Its Marinara uses tomato, garlic and oregano; Notaro combines mozzarella, gorgonzola, pear and walnuts. Those recipes offer a clearer choice than a generic promise of gourmet pizza.

The restaurant also serves pasta, meat and seafood, making it useful for mixed meal preferences. Nut and dairy ingredients matter in Notaro. Use the Frari menu and any listed cover or additions when calculating your meal.

  • Ristorante Pizzeria Dolfin

A mixed-menu restaurant in Santa Croce

Ristorante Pizzeria Dolfin is at Santa Croce 81. It is a broader restaurant-pizzeria option when a party wants to compare pizza with pasta, fish, meat or vegetable dishes, rather than a specialist pizza counter.

Ask Dolfin for its current pizza selection before choosing a particular recipe. The operator page also describes pasta, fish, meat and vegetable dishes, so a mixed party can consider a broader meal at this Santa Croce address.

Choose a quick stop or a longer meal

For a quick stop around Rialto, Antico Forno’s changing counter and Pizzaccia format offer a different purchase from a whole round pizza. Ask what is available at the counter rather than assuming every topping is offered in every format.

For a longer meal, OKE Zattere provides the canal-side possibility, Al Profeta the garden possibility, and the two Muro branches their distinct sit-down menus. A Le Tole helps a party split between pizza and homemade pasta. Dai Tosi puts the meal near the Biennale and Via Garibaldi; Dolfin is a broader Santa Croce restaurant-pizzeria whose current pizza choices should be requested.

For a San Marco meeting point, keep 1000 Gourmet at Calle Specchieri 475 separate from Rossopomodoro at Calle Larga San Marco 404. Count cover charges and any dough or topping supplements when comparing a meal. A pizza-only price does not establish the cheapest complete dinner.

Dietary details vary by recipe and kitchen. 1000 Gourmet explicitly uses a shared oven for gluten-free pizzas. OKE describes participation in the AIC project, while Antico Forno’s plant-marked Norma and Pugliese still contain dairy. Discuss the actual dish and preparation; do not infer safety or vegan suitability from a symbol or category.
