Best Orlando Car Rental Companies With Airport Pickup (2026)

Which Orlando airport car rental pickup fits your trip?

For walking access at Orlando International Airport (MCO), compare Enterprise, Hertz, Budget, National, Alamo, SIXT, Avis, Dollar and Thrifty. Avis, Budget, Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty publish 24-hour opening. Eligible National, Alamo, Avis and Budget renters have named express-service options. SIXT adds premium categories but has an overnight pickup gap. Fox uses a free shuttle to an off-airport office. Match the terminal route, collection time, driver eligibility and complete charge.

How to use this shortlist

This shortlist covers ten MCO branches: nine on airport and Fox off airport. Orlando Sanford (SFB) is a different airport. “Best” identifies practical fits by published pickup arrangements, rather than a customer-rating score or a cheapest-company ranking. Airport pickup usually means collecting the car from a garage or shuttle-served office; use the actual reserved service. Facts were reviewed on 17 October 2026.

Choose by terminal, collection window and complete cost

Start with the arrival terminal and the actual vehicle level. A/B rental counters are generally on Level 1; C counters are on Level 4. Enterprise, National and Alamo cars use A/B R1 and C1. Avis, Budget, Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty cars use A/B R2 and C2; SIXT uses A/B P1 and C1. These garage levels describe vehicles, not the counter floor. Follow the current terminal signs and the operator’s booked instructions.

Plan the return separately. Avis and Budget use A R1, B R2 and C2; Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty use A R2, B R1 and C2. Enterprise, National and Alamo use R1/C1; SIXT uses P1/C1. Avis and Budget direct customers to their departing terminal. A car returned to the arrival terminal may leave an extra transfer before the flight. Brightline passengers using Avis or Budget at C have specific garage Level 2 reader-board directions.

A staffed pickup window and a vehicle return facility do different jobs. Enterprise lists 07:00–23:59 and a return dropbox. SIXT lists a 02:00–05:00 staffed gap with 24-hour returns. National and Alamo have conflicting after-hours-return wording. Fox’s shuttle runs during business hours, adding a transfer in both directions. Include flight details and an agreed delayed-arrival plan; opening hours alone do not promise a reservation hold.

Compare the same dates, pickup and return times, car category, driver age, residence and accepted card. Include mandatory taxes and airport charges, young or additional drivers, protection, child seats, fuel, tolls and any one-way charge. The security hold reduces available funds even when it is refundable. A family or longer Florida trip needs suitable luggage and seating capacity plus a permitted itinerary, not simply a low advertised daily price.

For an eligible roundtrip on-airport MCO rental, CFX’s Visitor Toll Pass is a separate option alongside the company’s toll programme. All nine on-airport brands here are on its published list; Fox is not. Reserve in the app, collect near A/B Level 1 or C Level 4 rental counters, register the actual licence plate before departure, display the hangtag and return it. Decline the rental-company toll programme to avoid duplicate billing. The pass has no programme fee; tolls still apply and an unreturned hangtag costs $10.

Questions before you choose

Which companies here are on airport at MCO?

Enterprise, Hertz, Budget, National, Alamo, SIXT, Avis, Dollar and Thrifty are listed by MCO as on-airport operators. Fox serves MCO from an off-airport office with a shuttle.

Which Orlando airport car rentals publish 24-hour opening?

The reviewed Avis, Budget, Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty MCO branch pages publish 24-hour opening. SIXT’s 24-hour return label does not remove its 02:00–05:00 staffed pickup gap. A delayed reservation still follows its own hold terms.

Are the rental counter, vehicle pickup and return on the same floor?

Often they are not. Counters are generally A/B Level 1 and C Level 4; vehicle and return garage floors vary by company and terminal. In particular, Avis/Budget returns use A R1 and B R2, while Hertz/Dollar/Thrifty use A R2 and B R1.

Where do I catch the Fox shuttle at MCO?

Use Level 1 Ground Transportation spaces A11–A13, B60–B62 or C277–C278. The shuttle operates during business hours. Leave time for its wait and the return transfer; do not use the older B11–B13 directions.

Does a loyalty membership automatically let me skip the counter?

No. National Emerald Aisle, Avis Preferred, Budget Fastbreak and Alamo Skip the Counter have booking and eligibility conditions. Alamo’s option requires advance activation, the required choices and agreed terms, a valid credit card and the specified agreement and licence.

Can I rely on National or Alamo after-hours returns?

Both reviewed branch pages contain conflicting service-summary and detailed-policy wording. Obtain the intended terminal’s return procedure with the branch booking before relying on an unattended return.

Can a 19-year-old rent from Fox Orlando?

Its branch FAQ says 19, while its linked MCO policy says 21 for ordinary renters, with a separate 18-on-government-orders exception. Ordinary 19–20 eligibility is therefore unresolved; obtain a specific branch agreement rather than relying on the FAQ alone.

Can I use Visitor Toll Pass with every MCO shuttle rental?

No. CFX currently lists on-airport participating brands for a pickup and return at MCO. All nine on-airport brands in this guide appear; Fox does not. Register the actual car, decline the rental-company toll programme and return the hangtag under CFX’s instructions.

What matters besides the quoted daily rate?

Use matching dates, times, vehicle groups and driver details. Add mandatory charges and chosen extras, separate the security hold from the rental cost, and compare mileage, fuel, toll, cancellation and return terms from the original booking channel.

How we selected these places

We reviewed the ten MCO branches using current operator pages and local policies, the airport authority’s terminal and garage directory, and CFX’s Visitor Toll Pass information. Current branch contacts and schedules take precedence over older directory contacts. We grouped choices by access, hours, named-service eligibility and transfer arrangements. Material age and return-policy conflicts remain explicit. No rental, visit, call, booking, matched-date price survey or independent human service review is claimed.
