Best Romantic Restaurants in Venice (2026)
Which romantic Venice restaurant should you choose?
Start with Glam for an intimate palace setting and lagoon-led cooking, Wistèria for a quieter garden and seasonal tasting, or Danieli for a rooftop lagoon outlook. Club del Doge and Gio’s bring the Grand Canal into the occasion; Cip’s Club adds a Giudecca panorama and advertised boat shuttle. Local suits a contemporary food-led evening, while Quadri offers the St Mark’s Square occasion. Choose the menu and actual dining space together, then reserve the service that fits your plans.

How to use this shortlist
Ten existing romantic-dining selections in Venice, compared by the actual restaurant setting, food, occasion and reservation conditions. Best means an editorial best-for choice within this retained shortlist, not a measured city-wide quality league or a customer-rating score. Groups help compare a garden dinner, landmark room, Grand Canal meal or Giudecca destination evening. All ten original names remain; hotel accommodation and separate bars are distinct products.

Intimate rooms, gardens and food-led occasions
-
Glam Enrico Bartolini
An intimate palace setting and a lagoon-led tasting dinner
Start with Glam for an anniversary meal built around contemporary lagoon cooking and a small palace setting. Donato Ascani describes choosing fish, vegetables and other ingredients at the daily market; the courtyard and Grand Canal garden add a quieter atmosphere.
The current MICHELIN listing has two stars. Reserve the actual room or garden arrangement you want: a hotel garden beside the canal does not give every restaurant table the same view.

-
Wistèria Restaurant
A quieter San Polo garden setting and a seasonal tasting menu
Wistèria suits a quieter occasion built around a seasonal tasting rather than a grand-hotel panorama. Fish, meat and vegetables run through its six- or eight-course Serendipity menus, with indoor and wisteria-garden surroundings to discuss when booking.
The restaurant requires a credit-card guarantee, with a 24-hour change/cancellation deadline and a published €195-per-person late-cancellation or no-show charge. Those terms matter as much as the preferred garden table.

-
Local
An understated Castello room, open kitchen and contemporary Venetian tasting
Local is a useful starting point for couples who put contemporary food ahead of a grand-hotel panorama. Its Castello room and open kitchen make the evening less ceremonial, while the current MICHELIN listing shows one star.
Choose a seven- or nine-course tasting, with everyone at the table taking the same format. The page lists €160 and €190 respectively; confirm the price per diner and drinks rather than treating either amount as a group total. Discuss allergies and intolerances when booking; separate lunch and classics offers may apply to different services.

Grand Canal and rooftop lagoon occasions
-
Restaurant Terrazza Danieli
Rooftop lagoon views with explicit outside-diner access
Choose Restaurant Terrazza Danieli for the elevated lagoon outlook. Its indoor room and outdoor rooftop terrace provide different ways to make the view part of an occasion, with Venetian and Adriatic seafood among the kitchen’s interests.
Four Seasons explicitly welcomes outside diners and recommends advance booking for the limited terrace. Request the actual table and weather alternative; breakfast, lunch and dinner are separate services.
-
Club del Doge
A Grand Canal Venetian meal for couples or an older-family occasion
Club del Doge is a useful Grand Canal choice when Venetian food is central to the occasion. Alberto Fol’s published menus include scampi risotto and an In Essence tasting at €205 per person, for a minimum of two and the whole table.
Its terrace is advertised April–October, weather permitting. Reserve the restaurant meal and seating; Bar Longhi and Riva Lounge have separate hours and are not evidence of late restaurant service.

-
Gio's Restaurant & Terrace
Grand Canal candlelit dining with Veneto and Puglia flavours
Gio’s suits a Grand Canal occasion where the food combines Veneto and Puglia rather than a fixed lagoon-only tasting theme. Giuseppe Ricci’s menu includes seafood pasta, lagoon fish and vegetable dishes, with the terrace described for candlelit dining and social aperitivo.
The linked menu requires at least two à-la-carte dishes per person; tastings are for the whole table, with separate lunch/dinner cover charges and optional pairing. Reserve the actual service window and terrace arrangement.

Landmark rooms and central canal dining
-
Ristorante Quadri
An upstairs St Mark’s Square occasion, including families with children aged eight and over
Choose Quadri when the occasion is as much about St Mark’s Square and its upstairs dining room as the food. Venetian and Italian dishes are reinterpreted in tasting menus or an à-la-carte format based on two, three or four dishes per person.
Its current Autumn 2026 menu lists two dishes at €140 per person and several higher-priced tasting formats. Choose the restaurant specifically: Gran Caffè Quadri and Quadrino are separate options.

-
Alle Corone Restaurant
An elegant canal-side meal near Rialto without a rooftop or island journey
Choose Alle Corone for a canal-side occasion near Rialto and San Marco. Mauro Cautiello’s seasonal Venetian cooking, house-made pasta and elegant rooms offer a different evening from a rooftop or a Giudecca destination meal.
Its currently linked menus show six- and eight-course tastings for the whole table; confirm which is offered for your service. Published rules include Wednesday closure, no pets and an elegant-informal dress code.

Giudecca destination dining
-
Oro Restaurant
A destination tasting dinner with a waterside Giudecca setting
Oro is the destination choice for a tasting-led evening away from central Venice’s walking routes. Vania Ghedini’s dinner format and the waterside room make the meal itself the event; the current MICHELIN listing has one star.
ORO Luce is a separate lunch offering. Agree your actual service and both boat journeys; Cip’s Club’s advertised shuttle is not automatically the transport entitlement for an Oro reservation.

-
Cip's Club
A panoramic Giudecca dinner with a less formal restaurant mood
Cip’s Club is the panoramic Giudecca alternative when you prefer Venetian classics and a less formal mood than an evening tasting room. The waterfront setting faces the San Marco skyline; MICHELIN describes it as the hotel’s most informal and intimate restaurant.
Belmond advertises a complimentary boat shuttle from St Mark’s Square. Obtain the actual meeting point and outward/return times. The Fondamenta Terrace aperitif from 18:30 is a separate service, not Cip’s complete dinner timetable.

Choose the dinner, then the table and journey
For an anniversary built around the menu, compare Glam, Wistèria and Local. For water as the setting, decide between Danieli’s rooftop, Club del Doge or Gio’s Grand Canal tables, and Cip’s Club’s Giudecca panorama. Quadri and Alle Corone give central landmark or canal-side alternatives; Oro makes the destination meal the event.
Agree the actual shared menu, dietary arrangements, table and weather alternative before treating the plan as confirmed. Budget for drinks, cover charges and supplements separately. Boat timetables, a hotel stay and a terrace photograph do not replace the restaurant reservation.
Budget for the actual menu and its extras
A two-dish meal, a longer tasting and a wine pairing buy different experiences. These published examples are planning references, not like-for-like quality scores or a guarantee for a future service.
Agree the whole-table choice where required, drinks, supplements and the total reservation terms. For Alle Corone, the currently linked documents are undated, so confirm which of the six- or eight-course offerings applies.
| Restaurant | Published example | Basis and conditions | Extras or limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Quadri | Two-dish à la carte €140 | Per person; Autumn 2026 menu | Other formats and marked €30 truffle supplements differ |
| Local | Page lists €160 beside seven courses; €190 beside nine | Same format for each diner; confirm price per diner | Drinks and optional extras separate |
| Club del Doge | In Essence €205 | Per person; minimum two; whole table; last order 21:30 | Five-glass pairing €115 per person, separate |
| Alle Corone | Six courses €120; eight €139 | Per person; whole table; undated currently linked documents | Confirm actual service, menu and drinks |
| Gio’s | À la carte: at least two dishes | Minimum two dishes per person; tasting whole table | Published cover: €9 lunch / €12 dinner; pairing extra |

Book the setting that matters to the occasion
For a rooftop outlook start with Danieli. For the Grand Canal compare Club del Doge and Gio’s; their terrace arrangements and meal windows differ. Glam and Wistèria offer garden/courtyard surroundings, while Quadri is an upstairs square-side restaurant and Alle Corone is a canal-side central option.
Oro and Cip’s Club require a Giudecca plan. Arrange the actual outward and return boat times; Cip’s advertised shuttle is restaurant-specific. Local’s room and food are the reason to choose it, without inventing a panoramic terrace.

Questions before you choose
Which selections require a Giudecca boat journey?
Oro and Cip’s Club are at Hotel Cipriani on Giudecca. Cip’s Club advertises a complimentary St Mark’s Square shuttle; obtain the meeting point and return times. Ask Oro for the transport attached to its own booking rather than assuming that same entitlement.
Does a terrace photograph guarantee an outdoor table?
No. Danieli’s terrace seating is limited; Club del Doge advertises its terrace April–October, weather permitting. Request the actual seating and weather alternative. A photograph also cannot guarantee a garden table at Glam or Wistèria.
Are Ristorante Quadri, Gran Caffè Quadri and Quadrino the same booking?
No. Ristorante Quadri is upstairs above Gran Caffè Quadri; Quadrino is a separate bistro. Reserve the restaurant and select its tasting or two-, three- or four-dish à-la-carte format, including any white-truffle supplement.
What should I check before reserving Wistèria?
Agree the six- or eight-course whole-table menu, dietary needs and seating. The published policy requires a credit-card guarantee, gives a 24-hour change/cancellation deadline and lists a €195-per-person late/no-show charge. No pets and smart-casual dress rules also apply.
Can non-hotel guests dine at these hotel restaurants?
Danieli explicitly welcomes outside diners; Gio’s welcomes external guests subject to availability. Obtain the actual restaurant reservation and access arrangement for each other hotel restaurant. A hotel accommodation booking does not reserve a table.
Can everyone choose a different Local tasting menu?
The reviewed Local tasting page specifies the same seven- or nine-course menu for the whole table. Declare dietary needs at booking and obtain a suitable arrangement. Separate classics and lunch offers do not make every menu available at every service.
Which romantic restaurant should we start with?
Start with Glam for an intimate palace and lagoon-led menu, Wistèria for a quieter garden setting, or Danieli for a rooftop lagoon outlook. Choose Club del Doge or Gio’s for the Grand Canal, and Cip’s Club for the Giudecca panorama. Local puts contemporary food ahead of a grand-hotel setting; Quadri adds the St Mark’s Square occasion.
How should we compare the menu budget?
Compare the actual format and extras. Local requires everyone to take the same seven- or nine-course tasting; confirm the price per diner and drinks when booking. Quadri’s Autumn 2026 two-dish à-la-carte choice is €140 per person. Club del Doge’s €205-per-person In Essence requires at least two diners and the whole table, with pairing separate. Gio’s has a two-dish minimum and separate cover charges. These are different meals, not a cheapest-restaurant ranking.
Can these restaurants also suit a family occasion?
Quadri’s member profile explicitly welcomes children from eight. Club del Doge remains an older-family/multigenerational planning option, with the actual party and menu to agree directly. Gio’s links a children’s menu. No universal age policy is inferred for the remaining restaurants.
Can we assume every listed restaurant has a MICHELIN star?
No. Current recognition is attributed to the named restaurant: Glam has two stars; Oro, Wistèria and Local show one, and Quadri’s member profile lists one for 2026. A MICHELIN listing alone is not a star, a hotel’s rating is separate, and stars are not customer-review scores.
How we selected these places
Sarah Haddad is the responsible author. This desk-researched comparison retains the ten existing restaurants and groups them by dining setting, menu and occasion, with operator pages, linked menus and policies reviewed on 23 October 2026. Named MICHELIN distinctions and Quadri’s member-profile family policy are attributed separately; they are not customer scores or a measured romance ranking. We have not visited or tasted these meals. Seasonal menus, terrace allocation, transfers and dietary adaptations need agreement for the actual service. Original photographs are described accurately; the retained Top10 cover is an AI illustration. No paid position is used in this selection.
